Zyphe Inc. Cookies Policy
Scope
This Cookies Policy applies to all visitors of Zyphe Inc.’s website. It explains how we use cookies and similar tracking technologies on our site, in compliance with applicable data protection laws (including the EU GDPR and California CCPA). By using our website, you agree to the use of cookies as described in this policy (to the extent you have given consent where required).
What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files that websites place on your device as you browse. They are processed and stored by your web browser and can be read on future visits. Cookies serve many functions – for example, they can remember your preferences or login status, or collect information about your use of a site. We also use similar tracking technologies (like pixels, web beacons, and local storage) that functionally resemble cookies. In this policy, all these technologies are collectively referred to as “cookies.”
Types of Cookies We Use
We use the following categories of cookies on our website:
- Strictly Necessary Cookies – These cookies are essential for the website to function and cannot be switched off in our systems. They enable core functionality such as security, network management, and accessibility (e.g., allowing you to navigate the site and access secure areas). You do not need to provide consent for strictly necessary cookies, but we still want you to know about them.
- Performance & Analytics Cookies – These cookies collect information about how visitors use our website (e.g., which pages are visited and any errors encountered). Their sole purpose is to improve website functions and user experience. For example, we use third-party analytics services like Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity under this category to understand how our site is used. The information gathered by these cookies is aggregated and anonymized in many cases, and is used for statistical analysis and website optimization. These cookies will not be set unless you opt in to them, as described below.
- Functional Cookies – Also known as “preferences cookies,” these cookies allow the site to remember choices you have made to provide enhanced, more personal features. For instance, functional cookies may remember your language preference, region, or other customizations, so you don’t have to set them every time you visit. They may be set by us or by third-party providers whose services we have added to our pages.
- Advertising & Targeting Cookies – These cookies track your online activity to help advertisers deliver more relevant ads, or to limit how many times you see an ad. They may be set through our site by advertising partners to build a profile of your interests and show you relevant adverts on other sites. Note: At this time, Zyphe’s website does not use advertising or targeting cookies, and we will not set any such cookies without your explicit consent. We include this category in our policy for transparency and to accommodate any future use. If in future we do deploy advertising cookies, we will update this policy and obtain required consents.
Information Collected Through Cookies
Different cookies collect different pieces of information. Below are examples of the types of information our cookies (particularly analytics cookies) may collect about your visit:
- Lead Source – Information about how you arrived at our site. For example, a cookie may record the referring website or marketing campaign that led you to Zyphe’s site (i.e., which traffic source or campaign brought you here). This helps us understand the effectiveness of our outreach and advertising.
- Click Behavior – Data on what links or buttons you click and how you interact with our site’s pages. This tells us which content is engaging or where users might be encountering issues.
- Scroll Behavior – Information on how far and how often you scroll on a page. For instance, we may track if you scroll to the bottom of a page. This helps us gauge content visibility and user engagement with long pages.
- Browser Type – The type and version of web browser you use, as well as related technical details. This includes data like your browser name (e.g., Chrome, Safari) and possibly your operating system. We collect this to ensure our site is compatible with our users’ browsers and to troubleshoot technical issues.
- Device Type – Information about the device you use to access our site (desktop, tablet, mobile) and possibly your device’s screen resolution or OS details. This helps us design and optimize content for different device types.
- User Interactions – Comprehensive data on how you interact with our site’s interface. This can include movements of your mouse cursor, how you navigate between pages, keystrokes in non-sensitive fields, and other interaction metrics. For example, we may record if you encounter form errors or if you rapidly move your mouse indicating frustration. These interaction insights help us improve usability.
None of the cookies we use will directly identify you by name or contact details. However, some of the data collected (like IP address or unique IDs) may be considered personal data under privacy laws when combined with other information. Please refer to our Privacy Policy for details on how we protect personal data.
Third-Party Cookies and Analytics Tools
Google Analytics (Performance/Analytics)
We use Google Analytics to help us analyze how visitors use our website. Google Analytics is a web analytics service provided by Google that sets cookies to collect information such as your IP address, device and browser type, and on-site activities (e.g., pages viewed, links clicked). This data is used to measure and report statistics about user interactions on our site
. In practice, Google Analytics’ cookies allow us to recognize returning visitors and see aggregated insights like total visits, traffic sources, and user behavior flow. Google Analytics acts as our data processor for this information; Google does not share the data from our site’s analytics with other Google services unless we have enabled specific integrations or advertising features (which we have not, unless otherwise stated). We do
not
use Google Analytics to collect sensitive personal data, and we have configured the service to anonymize IP addresses wherever possible. For more information on how Google Analytics handles data, you can refer to Google’s own Privacy Policy and their documentation on data safeguarding
. If you prefer not to be included in Google Analytics tracking, you can opt out through our cookie consent tool or by installing the official Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
Microsoft Clarity (Performance/Analytics)
We also use Microsoft Clarity, an analytics and user experience tool provided by Microsoft. Microsoft Clarity is a service that enables us to record session replays and generate heatmaps, helping us understand how users interact with our website’s layout and content. Clarity’s cookies and tracking script collect.
detailed behavioral data
about your visit. This includes the pages you visit, how you scroll and move through each page, where you click, and how you move your mouse cursor. It also gathers certain technical data like your
IP address, approximate location (country/region derived from IP), device screen resolution, browser type, and language settings. All of this information is used to analyze user behavior and identify areas where our website can be improved. For example, Clarity might show us that many users did not scroll past a certain point on a page (indicating that important content should be moved higher), or that users rage-clicked on an element (indicating it may look clickable but isn’t functioning).
Importantly, data collected via Clarity may be considered personal data (particularly IP addresses and any user identifiers). Microsoft acts as an independent data controller for the data collected through Clarity, which means Microsoft may use the data for its own analytics purposes in providing and improving the Clarity service. According to Microsoft, Clarity is GDPR-compliant and CCPA-compliant – Microsoft has stated that Clarity operates in line with GDPR requirements and processes data in compliance with the CCPA. All data collected through Clarity is handled in accordance with the Microsoft Privacy Statement, and Microsoft will not sell the data or share it with third parties unrelated to providing the Clarity service. The information collected is stored on Microsoft’s Azure cloud servers. Microsoft has access to this data, but Clarity data is protected and used only for legitimate purposes of analysis and improvement. Microsoft explicitly notes that it
does not sell Clarity data
and does not use it to personally identify individual users
. You can learn more about Microsoft’s privacy practices for Clarity by reviewing Microsoft’s Privacy Statement and Clarity’s Terms of Use. We want to emphasize that
Clarity will not be activated unless you have given consent
(see “User Consent & Control” below), due to the detailed nature of its tracking. If you opt in, the Clarity scripts will run and start collecting data as described; if you opt out or decline, Clarity will remain inactive. (Note: Microsoft Clarity may set certain additional cookies, such as “_clsk” and “_clck”, which are explained in the table below. Microsoft may also utilize cookies like “ANONCHK” or “MUID” for its own analytics/advertising integration; these too will be blocked unless consent is given.)
User Consent and Cookie Control
Your privacy is our priority. We comply with the GDPR’s consent requirements and similar laws, which means we do not use non-essential cookies (such as analytics or functional cookies) unless you have given us explicit consent. When you first visit our site, you will see a cookie banner or pop-up that allows you to choose which categories of cookies you consent to. Except for the strictly necessary cookies (which are always on, as they are needed for the site to work), we will only set cookies in the categories you allow. For example, unless you opt in to “Analytics Cookies,” our Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity tools will remain inactive by default.
We also strive to make your choices granular and informed. Our cookie consent banner provides clear, plain-language descriptions of each cookie category and what it does
gdpr.eu
, so you can make an informed decision. If you choose “Accept All,” you are agreeing to the use of all cookie types we employ (within the scope described). If you choose “Reject All” or decline certain categories, we will honor that choice and not load any declined cookies. You will still be able to access and use our website even if you refuse non-essential cookies – we do not “paywall” or block content just because you declined cookies.
Changing Your Preferences or Withdrawing Consent: Giving consent to cookies is never a one-time decision – you remain in control at all times. If you initially consent to certain cookies but later change your mind, you can easily withdraw consent or modify your cookie preferences. We provide an always-available mechanism (such as a “Cookie Settings” link in the website footer or a settings icon) for you to review and change your cookie choices at any time. It is just as easy to withdraw consent as it was to give it.
For instance, clicking the “Cookie Settings” link will bring up the preferences center, where you can uncheck categories of cookies and save your new preferences. Once you do so, our site will stop using those cookies and will not set them on future page loads. (If you had previously allowed Microsoft Clarity, withdrawing consent will disable Clarity for your future visits, though note that any data already collected remains stored as described above.)
Additionally, most web browsers allow you to control cookies through browser settings – for example, you can delete existing cookies, block third-party cookies, or even block all cookies. You can also use browser extensions or privacy modes to manage cookies. Keep in mind, blocking or deleting cookies via your browser might affect the functionality of our site (especially for necessary and functional cookies). For convenience, our site’s own consent tool is the recommended way to manage which cookies you receive from us.
If you are a California resident and wish to exercise your right to opt out of the “sale” or sharing of personal information (as defined under CCPA/CPRA) that might occur through third-party cookies, you can do so by adjusting your cookie preferences to disable analytics/advertising cookies. We do not sell personal information collected via cookies in the traditional sense; however, we treat the enabling of third-party analytics and any potential data sharing as something you have the right to opt out of. Our cookie management tool and this Policy serve as our “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” notice and mechanism in relation to cookies.
Cookie Duration and Retention
Cookies can remain on your device for different periods. Some cookies (called session cookies) last only as long as your browser session and are deleted once you close your browser. Others (persistent cookies) have a set expiration time and will remain on your device until that time is reached (or you delete them manually). The table below outlines the main cookies that may be set when using our site, their purposes, and how long they last:

Other third-party cookies |
Our site may incorporate content or features from third parties (like embedded videos, social media widgets, or future analytics/ads tools). Such providers may set their own cookies, for example, a YouTube embed might set cookies to track video views, or a Live Chat plugin might use cookies for session management. We will endeavor to list any material third-party cookies here in our policy. All third-party cookies that are not strictly necessary will only be set if you consent.
|
Varies |
Varies (details will be provided when such cookies are in use; typically range from session-only to up to 2 years)
|
Notes: The above list focuses on the cookies most likely to be encountered. It may not be exhaustive, but we aim to keep it up-to-date. “Session” expiration means the cookie is temporary and will be removed once you close your browser. Persistent cookies have the indicated lifespans but you can delete them sooner via your browser settings. Also, cookie names and purposes may change as we update our services or as third parties update their platforms. We will periodically review and amend this table as needed.
GDPR and CCPA Compliance
We take compliance with privacy laws seriously and have designed our cookie practices to meet the strict standards of the GDPR (applicable to users in the European Economic Area, UK, etc.) and the CCPA (applicable to California residents), among other laws.
- GDPR (EU/EEA): Under the GDPR, most cookies (apart from those strictly necessary for site operation) require your prior informed consent. As detailed above, we implement a robust consent mechanism: no analytics or advertising cookies are activated until you opt in. We also explain the use of cookies in clear, plain language (through this policy and the consent banner), fulfilling the GDPR’s transparency requirements. Furthermore, the GDPR grants individuals several rights regarding their personal data. In context of cookies, if any data collected via cookies is personal data (e.g., an IP address tied to you or a cookie ID that is identifiable), you have the same rights over that data as any other personal data. These include the right to access the data (to ask us what data we have about you), the right to rectification (to correct inaccurate personal data), and the right to erasure (to request deletion of personal data). For example, you can request that we provide you a copy of any analytics data that can be linked to you (though in practice our analytics data is aggregated or pseudonymized). You can also request that we erase any personal data derived from cookies, which we will comply with unless we have a lawful reason to retain it (e.g., for security logs or required record-keeping). To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at privacy@zyphe.com (see Contact section below). We may need to verify your identity for security reasons before fulfilling such requests. Note that some cookie data may be fully anonymous (and not identifiable to you), in which case we may not be able to provide or delete data specifically linked to you, because we cannot reasonably isolate it. However, where we can tie cookie data to an identifiable profile, we will honor your GDPR rights with respect to that data. We do not make any decisions based solely on automated processing of cookie data that produce legal or similarly significant effects on you, so the GDPR’s provisions on profiling or automated decision-making are generally not triggered by our use of cookies.
- CCPA/CPRA (California): For California residents, the California Consumer Privacy Act (as amended by the CPRA) provides you with specific rights regarding your personal information. These include the right to know what personal information we collect about you and how we use and share it, the right to delete personal information we have collected from you (subject to certain exceptions), and the right to correct inaccurate personal information. In the context of cookies, this means you can request that we disclose the categories and specific pieces of personal information collected via cookies/tracking (for example, the categories of third parties receiving analytics data, etc.), and you can ask us to delete personal information derived from cookies. You also have the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. Under CCPA, “sale” is broadly defined to include certain disclosures of data for advertising purposes. While we do not sell personal data for money, some transfers of data via cookies (particularly to advertising or analytics partners) could be deemed a “sale” or “share” under California law. We therefore treat analytics and any advertising cookies as subject to opt-out. By using our cookie consent tool to decline those cookies, you are effectively exercising your right to opt out of any sale/sharing of data that might occur via those technologies. If for some reason our site’s cookie tool is not sufficient, California users can also contact us (at privacy@zyphe.com) to request to opt out, and we will ensure to honor that request. We also recognize “Global Privacy Control” (GPC) signals; if your browser is set with a GPC signal, our site will treat it as a valid opt-out of cookies that could entail a sale of personal info. Additionally, we will not discriminate against you for exercising any CCPA rights. You will receive the same level of service and access to our website regardless of your cookie preferences – in other words, if you opt out of non-essential cookies, we will not deny you service or charge you differently (aside from any differences that are a reasonable consequence of the reduced data collection, such as less personalized content).
In summary, Zyphe Inc. is committed to handling data collected via cookies in line with the GDPR, CCPA, and all applicable privacy regulations. We continuously monitor regulatory guidance and adjust our cookie practices and policies as needed. For more information about how we process personal data (beyond cookies), please see our main Privacy Policy.
Policy Updates
We may update this Cookies Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technologies, legal requirements, or for other operational reasons. If we make material changes, we will notify users by posting the updated policy on our website with a new effective date, and/or by additional means (such as an alert on our homepage or a notification via email, if appropriate). The “Last Updated” date at the top of this Policy will indicate when the latest changes were made. We encourage you to review this Policy periodically for any updates. Continued use of our website after any modifications to the Cookies Policy indicates your acceptance of the revised terms. Rest assured, we will not reduce your rights under this Policy without obtaining any necessary consent from you.
